How to wrap up and stay stylish this season…

The winter snap is here and I’ve seen a lot more scarves, hats, gloves and coats coming out of everyones wardrobes, but do you struggle to know how to wrap up and stay stylish?

Here are my top 7 (because 7 is a magical number!) buys for this winter season to keep you warm AND keep you looking your best…

  1. Buy Ted Baker Kikiie Wrap Front Coat Online at
My first selection comes from Ted Baker and can be purchased at John Lewis HERE
It’s one of the higher priced of my selections (currently priced at just over £230 with the current 30% off price match at JL) but you really do get what you pay for with this brand, the quality and texture of the fabrics is beautiful.
This coat is both functional and formal, and the deep red (oxblood or maroon) colour is very on trend this season.
The gold embellishments on the collar and the wrap belt give the coat some interest and make it look luxurious.
This style will suit a more taller woman, but it is worth noting they also provide this coat in a hip-height version too.Buy Joules Horatia Tweed Blazer Online at
  2. My next pick comes from Joules and can also be purchased at John Lewis HERE
This coat is within my mid range pricing and can be purchased with 20% off At JL – currently priced at £135
The navy colour is a great alternative to black, and actually suits a lot more skin tones.
The gold buttons on this jacket give it a nautical feel and looks delightful when paired with horiztonal stripes or denim and white (as pictured above).Screenshot-2017-11-22 Boohoo Double Breasted Coat at asos com
  3. My third selection originally comes from Boohoo but also be purchased from ASOS HERE
Whilst I’ve already featured a long length deep red jacket from Ted Baker above, this selection is a cheaper alternative for those who are watching the Christmas pennies.
Coming in at £45, its a great seasonal piece that you can use and then not feel so guilty about walking to your local charity shop when Spring rolls around.Screenshot-2017-11-22 New Look Padded Quilt Jacket at asos com.png
  4. My next selection is for those who prefer a more relaxed sporty look.
Puffa jackets have definitely made a comeback this season, and this cool grey padded coat is perfect as it will pair seamlessly with a lot of this seasons colours and tones.
The coat is great for those who are shorter as it will lengthen your legs.
The coat is from New Look and can be purchased from ASOS HERE for around £45 – bargain!Screenshot-2017-11-22 ASOS Chunky Jumper In Block Stripe at asos com.png
  5. Let’s not forget about a fabulous JUMPER!
This gorgeous jumper comes from ASOS and can be purchased HERE for £32.
The muted pink and grey colours blend beautifully with one another and the large block stripes are a great way to add some detail without straying too far out of our comfort zone.
Whilst oversized jumpers are on trend this season, I would avoid trying to make this jumper oversized unless you have a petite frame, go for a better fit due to the chunky fabric.
  6. A more luxurious jumper choice (and one which will likely be able to be used time and time again) comes from Polo Ralph Lauren and can be purchased from House of Fraser HERE
The jumper is a little more on the epxnesive side owing to the luxurious fabrics Ralph Lauren uses, however HOF has it on offer at the moment (originally £119, now £95.20)
The camel colour of this jumper is hugely on trend at the moment and I see a lot of High Street stores using this colour in their key features and promotions.
The colour pairs great with blue or black denims and can be used a great staple piece within your wardrobe.Image result for scarves
  7. Lastly, ACCESSORIES! I have many people asking me how they can choose a great pairing of scarves and hats to compliment their outfits without having to own every colour in the rainbow!
The answer is actually quite simple – go into a store, department stores are preferable as they will have a larger variety of brands, fabrics, colours and prints – and try on the colours you are drawn to and really look at yourself in the mirror.
    Ask yourself:
    – Does this colour blend with my skin tone?
    – Does this colour make me look washed out?
    – Will this colour pair nicely with the other tones in my wardrobe or will I have to wear more muted colours to be able to wear it?
If in doubt – ask for advice, store assistants are there to help and many department stores have specialised personal stylists, and of course you can book me for a personal styling session and I can go through all of this with you.

I hope thats given you some inspiration to go out there and select some warm and stylish pieces for this season, remember, clothing has a function, so don’t go out in the middle of winter wearing a camisole and shorts, we can stay stylish and still utilise clothing for their purpose.
